“The best ideas come when I’m not thinking about work at all,” says graphic designer, artist and TED Senior Fellow Safwat Saleem (@safwtf), who was born in Pakistan, grew up in the United Arab Emirates and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Many of Safwat’s professional projects take a while to finish, so on Instagram, he also shares art he either creates quickly first thing in the morning or right before going to bed. “It’s often a way for me to clear my head and make something out of whatever’s been on my mind that day,” he explains. “Making something quick without obsessing over the details feels pretty good.”
